Lumber Company was founded in 1993 by Debbie and Johnny Jones with
nothing more than a table saw and an old chop saw.
Within a year the business had grown to the point where it
purchased a delivery truck and trailer, and a four and a half acre
site with existing buildings and a single head resaw.
1996 product demand warranted the addition of a saw line consisting of
a multi-head sizer, two double-beaded resaws, deduster and dust
removal system. In
1998 a 6,000 square foot storage building was erected next to the
original 12,826 square foot building.
Then in 2000 a tractor-trailer was purchased in order to better
to a heavy increase in customer exports, a wood heat treating facility
was built and the company became certified to heat treat wood and
pallets for overseas shipment in 2006. A
continued demand for more production prompted the installation of a
plywood panel saw and a new pallet stringer notching machine in 2007.
just over 15 years Barefoot Lumber Company has developed and
diversified from pallet building to include cut stock, pre-cut plywood
and heat treating along with many other blocking needs. What
started as a small Mom and Pop operation and has grown into a
successful family business employing 15 people and processing 1.5
million board feet of wood annually.
